"Het aantal Nederlanders dat antidepressiva slikt, is vorig jaar gedaald. Dat is opvallend, want in de afgelopen zeven jaar is het gebruik van die medicijnen in ons land bijna verdubbeld, blijkt uit cijfers van de Stichting Farmaceutische Kengetallen.

In het laatste halfjaar van 2005 verstrekten de openbare apotheken aan 746.000 personen een antidepressivum. In dezelfde periode in 2004 betrof dat 760.000 mensen. Het aantal jongeren tot 21 jaar dat antidepressiva gebruikt, is afgenomen van 14.000 tot 12.000."
